Rosehall Run “Ceremony” Blanc de Blanc Brut – Review

This is “POP or FLOP”, where we taste test sparkling wines so you don’t have to! This week we’re sipping Rosehall Run’s “Ceremony” Blanc de Blanc Brut! Is this a bottle of bubbles you should POP? 💁 Or is it a FLOP? 🙅 Let’s see shall we…

Rosehall Run is located in Ontario’s Prince Edward County appellation. Dan Sullivan and his family selected the location of the winery in the early 2000’s because of its proximity to Lake Ontario and the remarkable Hillier clay soil, which is scattered with numerous rock and shale fragments on a limestone base. This soil is similar in composition to the soils of the Champagne region in France, so it’s no wonder that the vineyards yield grapes that make beautiful cool climate wines. As luck would have it, Rosehall Run has taken full advantage of the similarities of its terroir to Champagne… to produce their first traditional method sparkling wine! 😍

“Ceremony” is a multiple vintage cuvée of 100% estate grown Chardonnay, and was finished with a minimal dosage (2.5 g/L). It was bottled with two different label designs (white on black or black on white) so you can pick your favourite! And, bonus fun fact: it was named after a New Order song!!
